Frequently asked questions

How do I join?

Representatives apply and are chosen by the executive board and adviser. Class officers are elected by their grade. See Get Involved and our applications.

When does the council meet?

The full council meets every other Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in Lecture Hall B202. Committees meet in the Library on the Thursdays in between. Anyone can attend.

How are funds used?

Donations to the LEAD trip fund go to the trip first. Any extra supports Homecoming, Culture Night, and service projects. See the budget.

What is the LEAD Conference?

A national student leadership conference hosted by the National Principals Association with the National Association of Student Councils and National Honor Society, February 26-28, 2027, in Washington, D.C.

How are delegates chosen?

Students apply by Monday, November 2, 2026. Twelve students will be chosen, with preference to juniors and seniors. We plan to attend every other year.

How can I share an idea or concern?

Tell any representative, speak during the open forum at a council meeting, share an idea online, or email the adviser.
